Since 2022, Zindagi Now has been working alongside vulnerable communities in Afghanistan to expand access to education, strengthen livelihoods, and create opportunities for long-term economic independence.
Our work focuses on supporting refugee returnees, women, youth, and underserved families through practical education and skills development programs that address both immediate needs and future opportunities.
Supporting Women's Economic Empowerment
Over the past three years, Zindagi Now has trained and supported more than 300 Afghan women through jewelry-making, gemstone processing, business training, and income-generation initiatives. Participants gain practical skills, mentorship, and hands-on experience that help them secure employment, contribute to household income, or pursue their own small business activities.
Looking Ahead
Zindagi Now remains committed to investing in people and communities. By combining education, skills development, and livelihood opportunities, we aim to help individuals build greater self-reliance, strengthen local economies, and create positive change for future generations across Afghanistan.
Preserving Skills and Creating Opportunities
Afghanistan has a long history of craftsmanship and jewelry production. Through our training programs, we help preserve these traditional skills while preparing artisans to meet modern market demands. Participants receive training in jewelry design, production techniques, quality standards, and professional practices that enable them to create products for local and international markets.
Strengthening Livelihoods
In addition to vocational training, we provide business and entrepreneurship education that helps participants develop practical skills in financial literacy, bookkeeping, business planning, marketing, sales, and enterprise management. These skills enable individuals to make informed economic decisions, increase their earning potential, and build more sustainable livelihoods.
Empowering Youth for the Future
Young people represent one of Afghanistan's greatest sources of potential. Zindagi Now supports youth by creating opportunities to develop practical skills, explore entrepreneurship, and gain knowledge that can improve their prospects for employment and economic participation.
Expanding Access to Education
Many refugee returnee and displaced children face significant barriers to education, including interrupted schooling and limited access to learning opportunities. Through our community-based school programs, we provide safe and supportive learning environments that help children strengthen their literacy, numeracy, and life skills while preparing them for continued education and future success.
