Summary
Zindagi Now Project
Zindagi Now is a non-governmental organization working in Afghanistan to expand access to education, strengthen livelihoods, and empower vulnerable communities through skills development and economic opportunity. Building on a foundation of creativity, entrepreneurship, and social impact, the organization supports Afghan women, men, youth, and refugee returnees through education programs, business and management training, vocational skills development, and sustainable employment initiatives.
The organization emerged from a collaboration between Zindagi Trust and internationally renowned British jeweller Pippa Small, which sought to preserve Afghanistan’s rich jewelry-making heritage while creating meaningful income opportunities for Afghan artisans.

Our Jewelry Collections
Every piece created through Zindagi Now reflects a story of craftsmanship, resilience, and opportunity. Designed and handcrafted by Afghan artisans, our collections celebrate Afghanistan’s rich cultural heritage while creating sustainable livelihoods for women and men across the country.
Drawing inspiration from traditional Afghan design, natural gemstones, and centuries-old artisanal techniques, our jewelry combines heritage craftsmanship with contemporary design. Each piece is carefully handmade using skills passed down through generations and refined through professional training and mentorship.
Many of the artisans behind our collections began their journey as trainees in Zindagi Now’s jewelry and business development programs. Today, they are skilled craftspeople, entrepreneurs, and community leaders who contribute to local economies while preserving Afghanistan’s unique artistic traditions.
Our collections feature handcrafted necklaces, earrings, bracelets, rings, and gemstone pieces made with locally sourced materials, including the world-renowned lapis lazuli of Badakhshan. Every purchase supports artisan livelihoods, skills development, and opportunities for future generations of Afghan women and men.
More than jewelry, each piece represents a story of creativity, empowerment, and hope.
