Project Info
The training includes learning the technical skills of jewelry-making, design, and production. Those on the training program will do practical work such as gold-smithing, stone setting, casting, polishing, and assembly. The training and mentoring will be undertaken by Afghan master craftswomen and internationally respected jewellery designers. The students are also trained to understand the demands of international markets, such as quality control, authentication of materials used, keeping updated on client interests and fashion trends, and respecting time frames. All trainers are women.
