Zindagi Now Project

Jewelry Design and Production Training

Zindagi Now provides specialized jewelry design and production training that combines Afghanistan’s rich artisanal heritage with contemporary design techniques and international market standards. The program is designed to equip participants with the technical expertise, creative skills, and professional knowledge required to build successful careers in the jewelry sector and related creative industries.

Participants receive comprehensive, hands-on training across the full jewelry production process, from concept development and design to the creation of finished pieces. Training covers jewelry design, goldsmithing and metalworking techniques, gemstone setting, casting, polishing, finishing, assembly, and quality assurance. Through practical workshop experience, trainees develop the skills necessary to produce high-quality handcrafted jewelry that meets professional and commercial standards.

A distinctive feature of the program is the opportunity to learn from experienced Afghan master craftswomen and skilled industry professionals who provide mentorship, technical guidance, and practical production experience. This approach helps preserve traditional Afghan craftsmanship while introducing modern techniques and design innovation that enhance participants’ competitiveness in local and international markets.

In addition to technical training, participants gain an understanding of the requirements of the global jewelry industry. This includes quality control procedures, material sourcing and authentication, product presentation, customer expectations, production planning, and market awareness. Trainees are encouraged to develop an understanding of evolving design trends, consumer preferences, and professional standards that support successful engagement with both domestic and international buyers.

The program emphasizes creativity, precision, professionalism, and entrepreneurship, enabling participants to transform traditional craftsmanship into sustainable livelihood opportunities. By combining practical skills development with industry knowledge and mentorship, Zindagi Now helps artisans strengthen their economic independence while contributing to the preservation and promotion of Afghanistan’s cultural and artistic heritage.
